Apple&rsquo;s design resembles an iMac. <a href="/microsoft/windows-10-anniversary-update/desktop-computer/">Microsoft</a> and <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/desktop-computer/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> designs previously featured PC towers.

Desktop Computer

A <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiniDisc">minidisc</a>, depicted as a small, silver or gold <a href="/optical-disk/">optical disc</a> housed in a square cartridge, its shutter positioned to the right.

<a href="http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2013/02/sony-announces-the-end-of-the-minidisc/">Discontinued</a> as an audio and data storage format in 2013 due to the success of CD and MP3 technology, though the emoji is commonly used to represent CDs, DVDs, and related film and music content, especially albums.

Samsung&rsquo;s design <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/computer-disk/">previously featured</a> a silver disc labeled MD, for minidisc. <a href="/au-kddi/type-a-2/computer-disk/">Early designs</a> from au by KDDI showed an angled <a href="/floppy-disk/">💾 Floppy Disk</a>, perhaps as being inserted or ejected into a computer drive.

Commonly used for various content concerning movies, film, video, and photography as well as an icon for a video or picture, as before an upload, link, or credit.

Apple&rsquo;s design features an S-shaped, sepia-tinged strip.

Film Frames

A classic film projector, as projects <a href="/film-frames/">film</a> onto a screen for viewing. Generally depicted as a black or gray projector with two mounted reels and lens pointed right.

Commonly used for various content concerning movies, film, and video as well as an icon for a video, as before an upload, link, or credit.

WhatsApp&rsquo;s design is green, while&nbsp;Google&rsquo;s was <a href="/google/android-8.0/film-projector/">previously</a>&nbsp;blue.

Film Projector

A classic television set, as people watched before streaming on flatscreens.&nbsp;Depicted in various colors and styles with a screen, knobs, and, on many platforms, rabbit-ear antennae.

Google&rsquo;s design <a href="/google/android-8.0/television/">previously</a> featured&nbsp;a more modern-looking orange TV.&nbsp;Apple&rsquo;s <a href="/apple/iphone-os-2.2/television/">first design</a> was yellow, while&nbsp;Microsoft&rsquo;s <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/television/">previous design</a> was a flatscreen.

Television

A videotape cassette, as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VHS">VHS</a> tape used to watch movies or record <a href="/television/">TV</a> on VCRs before <a href="/dvd/">DVDs</a> , DVRs, and streaming. Generally depicted as a black cassette with a white label between its reels.

Occasionally used for various content concerning film and video (taping) as well as an icon for a video, as before an upload, link, or credit. May also be used to represent audio <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassette_tape">cassette tapes</a>.

Videocassette

A light-brown or yellow rectangular tag, as labelled and attached to a <a href="/key/">key</a>. Depicted&nbsp;at various angles&nbsp;punched with a hole, generally with a metal ring or loop of string.

Commonly used to represent a price tag or metadata tag as well as for various senses of label.

WhatsApp&#39;s is white.&nbsp;Apple removed&nbsp;its ring from <a href="/apple/ios-10.2/label/">earlier&nbsp;designs</a>. Samsung <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/label/">previously featured</a> the easter egg initials HMJ,&nbsp;while&nbsp;Google&#39;s design <a href="/google/android-8.0/label/">previously</a>&nbsp;featured&nbsp;two tags.

Label

An eject symbol, displayed as an upward-pointing triangle above a horiztonal bar. May be used as a physical button or an icon in a user interface. Eject Symbol

A circle shown in the color of yellow.

As with other color-based shape emojis (most notably the <a href="/hearts">hearts</a>), this emoji may be used to express an affinity with or appreciation for various people, places, groups, objects, or ideas associated with the same color.
