Also often used to discuss artificial intelligence and various AI-branded products and features, though the <a href="/sparkles">✨ Sparkles</a> emoji has become the go-to symbol to represent AI within tech platforms.

Robot Face

A child with no gender specified.&nbsp;This emoji may be used to talk about children in a gender-inclusive way.

Variants include&nbsp;<a href="/girl/">👧 Girl</a> and <a href="/boy/">👦 Boy</a>.

Child

A bed with a gender-unspecified person sleeping in it, as at a <a href="/house/">house</a>, <a href="/hotel/">hotel</a>,&nbsp;hostel, or other sleeping accommodation. Used especially for various content concerning <a href="/sleeping-face/">sleeping</a> as well as beds, furniture, housing, relaxing, and other bedroom activities.

Shown with a headboard at the left&nbsp;and footboard with a person under the covers, head on the pillow. Most platforms suggest a wooden frame and feature blue or red sheets.

The appearance of the person varies. Apple and Facebook&#39;s designs show only the hair of the sleeper, Apple&#39;s black and Facebook&#39;s brown and tousled. Other major vendors show the head of the sleeper in default yellow with short, brown or blonde&nbsp;hair. Skin tone support is not recommended for this emoji, though it is supported&nbsp;<a data-saferedirecturl="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://emojipedia.org/sleeping-accommodation-type-4/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1550338562835000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHzfwaURXq7FmOe4Z-btvsniTcb0Q" href="/person-in-bed-medium-skin-tone/" target="_blank">on some platforms</a>.

Often used with an affectionate tone. Does not have a full-bodied bear emoji counterpart.

May be used to refer to certain members of the <a href="/pride">LGBTQ</a> community, a la the slang term &quot;bear&quot;.

Google&nbsp;<a href="https://emojipedia.org/google/android-7.0/koala/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">previously&nbsp;</a>depicted a full-bodied koala climbing a tree, Softbank&rsquo;s koala<a href="https://emojipedia.org/softbank/2004/koala/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">&nbsp;previously</a>&nbsp;had brown fur.

Koala

A friendly, cartoon-styled face of a panda&mdash;a bear-like mammal known for eating bamboo&mdash;looking straight ahead. Depicted as a white panda face with black ears and black circles around its eyes.

Often used with an affectionate tone and in association with <a href="/flag-china/">China</a>, where the animal is found. Sometimes&nbsp;used to represent a red panda. Does not have a full-bodied panda emoji counterpart.

Tulip

Japanese Dolls

A pink or red ribbon, as tied into a bow on a <a href="/wrapped-gift/">gift</a>&nbsp;or <a href="/womans-hat/">woman&#39;s hat</a>.

Often used to indicate something is pretty, cute, or special, including on holidays. Also used of various content concerning baby girls and for its pink or red color more generally.

<a href="/google/android-7.0/ribbon/">Google&rsquo;s</a> ribbon was previously orange, Facebook&rsquo;s <a href="/facebook/1.0/ribbon/">blue</a>.

Ribbon

A squirt gun (water pistol), as used to <a href="/sweat-droplets/">spray water</a> for fun.

On major platforms, depicted as a green or orange toy gun with an orange tip and barrel pointed left.&nbsp;Google&nbsp;and Facebook&rsquo;s designs include mounted reservoirs.

Originally depicted as a classic handgun, as a revolver or other pistol. In 2016, <a href="http://blog.emojipedia.org/apple-and-the-gun-emoji/">Apple switched its design</a> from weapon&nbsp;to toy; other major vendors followed suit by 2018. Deprecated emoji sets or smaller platforms still display the emoji as a handgun.&nbsp;

In July 2024, X / Twitter updated this emoji&#39;s design to once again show a real firearm. In August 2024 the firearm&#39;s design was changed, and also made available for iOS platforms.

Microsoft <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/pistol/">initially displayed</a> the emoji as a toy ray gun before switching to a revolver, then squirt gun. Google <a href="/google/android-4.4/pistol/">once featured</a> a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blunderbuss">blunderbuss</a>.

Pistol

A video game emoji,&nbsp;shown on major platforms as a console&nbsp;gamepad with <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D-pad">D-pad</a>, <a href="/joystick/" title="🕹 Joystick">joysticks</a>, and buttons.

Video Game

A six-sided die, used in a range of board and turn-based games. Commonly called&nbsp;dice which refers to the plural of die.

Most other platforms display this emoji as a single game die in white or red.&nbsp;LG&nbsp;showed two game dice in this emoji.

Game Die

A single piece of a jigsaw puzzle, shown with two tabs and two blanks.

Usually shown as a plain green puzzle piece, though color and imagery does vary.

Jigsaw Puzzle Piece

A colorful decorated&nbsp;container that comes in many shapes, a pi&ntilde;ata is filled with candy or toys. Hit to break open for celebrations such as <a href="/cinco-de-mayo/">Cinco de Mayo</a>, this is generally associated with <a href="/flag-mexico/">Mexico</a>.

Displayed as a donkey on some platforms, and as a three-dimensional star with 6&ndash;9 points on others.

Pinata

Nesting dolls,&nbsp;also called matryoshka dolls or Russian dolls, decorated with bright colors including red, yellow, blue, and green. All&nbsp;platforms depict the nesting dolls as open, revealing smaller dolls within the bases of larger dolls. Dolls are all decorated with women&nbsp;wearing&nbsp;headscarfs. Some platforms show a flower motif on the women&#39;s dresses or aprons.

Nesting Dolls

A bed, made up for sleeping in a <a href="/house/">house</a>, <a href="/hotel/">hotel</a>, or other <a href="/person-in-bed/">sleeping accommodation</a>.
