Eight Pointed Black Star

A cartoon-styled representation of <a href="/dizzy-face/">dizziness</a>. Generally depicted as one or more yellow stars swirling in a yellow or blue circle.

Resembles <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lexicon_of_Comicana">squeans</a>, stylized stars and circles over the heads of characters in comics and animation to show they are dizzy, <a href="/woozy-face/">disoriented</a>, intoxicated, or <a href="/nauseated-face/">sick</a>.

Commonly used for emphasis and flair or to indicate various positive sentiments. Like <a href="/shooting-star/">🌠 Shooting Star</a>, sometimes used as a visual reference to NBC&rsquo;s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_More_You_Know">More You Know</a> public service announcement, popular in the 1990s and featuring a&nbsp;shooting star logo.

Not to be confused with <a href="/star/">⭐ Star</a>, <a href="/glowing-star/">🌟 Glowing Star</a>, and <a href="/sparkles/">✨ Sparkles</a>, though their applications may overlap.

Facebook&rsquo;s design features two stars spinning along two intersecting purple circles, though it <a href="/facebook/2.0/dizzy/">previously</a> only featured one&nbsp;yellow ring. <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/dizzy/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> design previously displayed several yellow circles and stars.

Dizzy Symbol

A symbol often used in relation to the religion&nbsp;of&nbsp;Judaism. Not to be confused with the&nbsp;<a href="/dotted-six-pointed-star/" title="🔯 Six Pointed Star With Middle Dot">Six Pointed Star With Middle Dot emoji</a>.

Star of David

A star with six points, and a dot in the center. Similar to the <a href="/star-of-david/" title="✡ Star of David">Star of David emoji</a>.

Six Pointed Star with Middle Dot

Used in a similar manner to a regular * asterisk&nbsp;character but tends to be shown in a similar vertical alignment to a &bull;&nbsp;bullet point.&nbsp;The eight spoked asterisk&nbsp;has both a ✳︎&nbsp;text and ✳️&nbsp;emoji presentation available on most&nbsp;platforms.

Often used as a decorative bullet-point, the sparkle has both a ❇︎ text and ❇️ emoji presentation available on most&nbsp;platforms.

Like with the&nbsp;<a href="/sparkles">✨ Sparkles</a>&nbsp;emoji,&nbsp;an icon similar to the four-point star design used to represent this emoji by several vendors (e.g. Apple, Microsoft) is often used within tech platforms to represent a feature that utilizes&nbsp;artificial intelligence.
